About a year after I moved to Harrisburg, I was encouraged
by people to stop in @ the Art Association of Harrisburg. Although I had
heard of it during my research when I first moved to the tiny, clean city,
I was hesitant due to a natural phobia regarding being part of 'the establishment'...
...I did stop in. Very soon after I showed my work
to Carrie Wissler-Thomas, the Director, and Terrie Hosey, the Curator,
I was invited to be a featured artist @ one of their summer programs. This
'Summer Soiree', was to be hosted by the Curator, Terrie Hosey, and Board
Member, PSECU's Margaret Delmonico. The theme of the garden art party
was to be Italy, and Terrie had recently traveled there. Since I had not
been there, I used Terrie's vacation photos to paint most of these scenes.
I am incredibly grateful for that very pleasant summer evening 'Picnic
@ Pisa'.
